Mach 1 X-STRETCH Film Carriage
QUICK START
- Turn off the power to the machine.
- Place the film roll into the mandrel.
- Create a film rope.
- Open the carriage door.
- Place the film through the "V" opening. Do not thread the film through the rollers.
- Close the door.
- Turn on the power to the machine.
- Push the PAUSE button on the control panel, pull the film out, and attach it to the load.
DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUAL
- [OPTIONAL] Manually raise the film carriage to 12” above its lowest position.
- Switch off power to the machine.
- Push down on the door knob (or, on older models, turn the handle on the cradle ¼ turn clockwise) and open the cradle.
- Lift up the film holder top mandrel. Place the stretch film roll on the bottom mandrel and lower the top mandrel onto the roll core. Some films have arrows on their core pointing in one direction. In some applications these have no meaning, but if the film features single side adhesive (cling) then it must be placed in such a manner that the sticky side faces the rubber when threaded through the rollers. This will also ensure that the film’s sticky side faces the inside of your pallet load.
- Thread the film straight through the V-shaped opening created by the open cradle. DO NOT THREAD THE FILM AROUND ANY OF THE ROLLERS. The film can be roped for this operation.
- Close the cradle (and, on older models, lock the handle by rotating 1/4 turn counterclockwise).
- Switch on power to the machine.
- Standing on the control panel side of the machine, press the PAUSE button and pull the film end towards you. The film must be pulled against the dancer roller (last aluminum roller) to activate the pre-stretch device motor.
